182 Graham walk-thru 10/31/2018

I
am continuing to load the videos I have made of the saga of 182 Graham
Ave into their own channel in chronological order. Here is Halloween
2018, when we got to see how far Antonio Cook was going to get the
building from 15 SRO units to 3 or 4 apartments, in the mistaken belief
that by doing so it could be take out of Rent Stabilization, though it
would bring them back into compliance with their own Certificate of
Occupancy. For the record, none of the tenants that I have known since I
moved in back in 1993 had done any renovations to turn the building
into an SRO. Those walls had been there for most, if not all the
building's life, and the owners had been collecting rent from the
individual rooms for years when I got there.

My interviews with Rev. Dr. Johnny Ray Youngblood, Kenya Cagle, & Mikoda Lancaster

Last
December, in the midst of my legal battles regarding 182 Graham Ave, I
managed to find the time to reprise my role as Abraham Lincoln in Mount
Pisgah Baptist Church's production of "Emancipated Glory," about the
events and issues leading up to the enactment of the Emancipation
Proclamation. A few nights before the "Watch Night" performance (New
Year's Eve), I grabbed quick interviews with the church's pastor, the
Rev. Dr. Johnny Ray Youngblood, the play's writer,

Kenya Cagle, and the young actor playing John Wilkes Booth, Mikoda S. Lancaster.

Black Lives Matter protest and arrests in Times Square, 9/19/2020 Part 2

Here is Part 2 of my video of the Black Lives Matter protest and police action from last Saturday. You can see the arrestees being loaded onto the bus, activists doing diligence by collecting names and even providing ID for the arrestees, bicycle cops holding the line, megaphone speechifiers making their points known, and, at the and, a glimpse at the Naked Cowboy. Plus a few thoughts from me.

182 Graham Ave Saga Live Report #10 12/24/2019 (part 2)

Here is my follow-up to my previous YouTube posting of my Christmas-eve Facebook Live post, in which I describe what I found when I got home after being called an told that someone was trying to break into my (vacated) room in my building.

I also ask what would be the best social media platform or spreading the news about my situation with my home and my case against my landlord and building manager, and how many mid-winter holidays you can name. Those questions still stand today.

182 Graham Ave Saga Live Report #9 12/24/2019

As we continue the recap of the saga of 182 Graham Ave, on Christmas Eve of last year, barely a week after showing me an upstairs room to rent in replacement of the room from which I had been vacated (and that they were never going to fix), I got a call at work from my non-vacated neighbor that Antonio Hernan Cook was up to shenanigans...

You can see what happened at that visit on December 18 here.
